5. Carlos Bacca - West Ham
The Colombian striker Carlos Bacca only joined the Serie A side club Milan last summer but scored 20 goals in 42 appearances. At 29 Carlos Bacca has still got a lot to offer and is one to watch during this transfer window. He is known as a lethal striker for his aggression, pace and goal scoring and would be a good target man for West Ham. Rumours are spreading that West Ham have activated his release clause of £26 million which would make him the most expensive player in West Ham’s club history. With West Ham moving to their new stadium this upcoming season they will be looking for more firepower to compete in the top 6 of the table which they are hoping the Colombian can bring.
4. N’Golo Kante - Chelsea
It's fair to say since Kante joined the premier league he has hit the ground running, winning the premier league in his first season. At a fee of €8 million Kante joined Leicester city from Caen during last summers transfer window and since then proven to be a pivotal player for Leicester City. Kante made his international senior debut with France in 2016 and was included in the 23 man French squad for the European championship which took place in France. Following Chelsea's poor performance during the 2015/2016 season, Antonio conte will be looking to strengthen his midfield and what a better way of doing this by signing Kante who made the most interceptions and tackles in the premier league last season. At price a of £29.1 million (€35 million) Chelsea will be hoping they can secure the services of Kante.
3. Christian Benteke - Liverpool
Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has only had one season with Liverpool but it is clear to see he is surplus to requirements and is not part of Jurgen Klopps plans to take the club forward. Enduring injury in the early parts of the season and a change of manager saw Benteke dropped in the pecking order. Benteke was no longer deemed as the main Liverpool striker anymore with Jurgen Klopp preferring Firmino as a striker in the absence of Sturridge and Origi. Benteke will be hoping to revive his career and with a £32.5 million price tag Crystal Palace will have to increase their £25 million bid if they hoping of securing the Belgium striker.
2. Gonzalo Higuain - Arsenal
Gonzalo Higuain is one of the most clinical strikers in world football right now finishing as the top scorer of serie A in the 2015/2016 season with a record breaking 36 goals. Arsenal have been interested in the striker for a few years now and it seems this year the transfer is more likely to happen. Arsenal have been needing a player of this quality since the departure of Robin Van Persie and with the unfortunate injury of Danny Welbeck this transfer couldn't come at a better time for Arsene Wenger and the fans. With a £79 million release clause (€94.4 million) it will be interesting to see whether the gunners will actually break the bank for the Napoli striker.
1. Paul Pogba – Manchester United
Paul Pogba is one of the most exciting talents in Europe right now. At the age of 23 he is strong, quick, skillful with an eye for goals. Since joining Juventus in 2012 he has won 4 consecutive Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia title and 2 Supercoppa Italiana titles making him one of the most sought after midfielders in world football right now. With Pogba being identified as Mourinho’s 4th transfer target it is clear to see he is trying to add more power and aggression to United’s midfield. At a record price of £100 million surpassing the record £85 million paid by Real Madrid for Gareth Bale, eyebrows will be raised on the transfer considering the fact he came from Manchester United’s academy and left for free. With this deal seeming to be completed and agreed, Pogba takes the number 1 spot for most talked about transfer.
