Goalkeepers: Hart | Forster | Heaton

Defenders: Bertrand | Rose | Cahill | Smalling | Stones | Clyne | Walker

Midfielders: Alli | Henderson | Barkley | Lallana | Delph | Milner | Sterling | Dier | Drinkwater | Townsend | Wilshere

Forwards: Kane | Vardy | Rooney | Sturridge | Rashford

This year the England squad actually looks like if they gel early they'll go far in this competition, the selection has a few questionable entries and exclusions but the players selected are still good enough to progress in the tournament. The biggest talking point has to be the fact Defoe was overlooked and that Rashford has made the 26-man squad even though I think he won't make the 23-man squad. Defoe scored 15 goals in a relegation battle to keep his club up and a PROVEN goal scorer just like the other 4 forwards selected, not taking anything anyway from Rashford who has 7 goals in 16 apps in all competitions but he has plenty of time, we saw the mistake England made with Walcott.

Another interesting selection for me was Fabian Delph being picked ahead of Mark Noble And Michael Carrick. Roy Hodgson may have overlooked Carrick based on age and maybe form but for me to win a tournament you need your best players and solely players based on a seasons form. Mark Noble can count himself very unlucky after the season he had with the hammers, just missing out on European football. He missed only one Premier League game and has been outstanding yet a Delph who's had 17 apps in the league (9 as a sub) gets a call up based on what? Roy really confused me there. Drinkwater is another name that slyly shocked me but considering his team won the league it's hard to argue against his entry.

Despite Rashford & Drinkwater having good seasons I think they won't make the final 23-man squad alongside Fabian Delph, which would be fair considering that most of the squad have been involved in the qualifying stage and friendlies.

My England Euro2016 Prediction: Semi-Finals
